Biography
Professor Lisa Green-Cudek guides people of all ages to experience dance as a vehicle for personal growth. She has been teaching at Peabody Institute, Loyola University Maryland, and The Johns Hopkins University since 2007 and received Peabody Preparatory’s Suzanne Seff Kuff Excellence in Teaching Award in 2022. Prior teaching positions include Temple University, The University of the Arts, and the Teacher Training Institute of Tanzundteaterwerkstatt in Frankfurt, Germany.
Professor Green-Cudek received her Teaching Artist certificate from the MSDE Maryland Teaching Artist’s Institute in 2006. She developed a leadership development/arts integration program at Randallstown High School that guided dance students to collaborate on designing and teaching lesson units integrating dance with content in courses throughout the curriculum.
Her choreography for The Peabody Opera, The Jewish/German Dance Theatre, independent artists, and students has been performed throughout Germany and in the United States at The Painted Bride, Meyerhoff Symphony Hall, The Baltimore Museum of Art, and myriad universities, local theaters, churches, and synagogues. Professor Green-Cudek has written about dance for The Dancer Citizen, Tanz Aktuel, and Contact Quarterly, and presented her research at The National Dance Education Organization, The Congress on Research in Dance, the Society of Dance History Scholars, and Tanzforum Frankfurt.
Professor Green-Cudek cultivates dance in communities as a medium for exploring ideas and histories, identities, and relationships. She has received funding for this work from The Pennsylvania Humanities Council, The Maryland Humanities Council, Loyola University Maryland, and The Johns Hopkins University.
