The place where coaching, leadership, and community come together to create a more compassionate, inclusive, and impactful future.

The Center for Coaching and Leadership at Loyola is a transformative hub for leadership growth, professional coaching, and collaborative research. Grounded in Jesuit values, particularly cura personalis, or care for the entire person, the Center aims to help individuals and organizations learn, lead, and succeed with authenticity, curiosity, and purpose.

Through coaching, education, and research, the Center helps leaders and coaches develop the capacity to navigate complexity and uncertainty with self‑awareness, empathy, and courage. It is both a community and a catalyst, a place where people come together to explore new ways of being, working, and leading that contribute to a more just and connected world.

Three Pillars

The Center delivers innovative learning opportunities that support leaders and coaches as they develop across every stage of their journey. These programs emphasize reflection, skill-building, and application, are anchored in real-world challenges, and are supported by coaching.

Opportunities include:

  • Coach Training and Certification, foundational and continuing education programs aligned with professional coaching standards.
  • Professional Learning Workshops on coaching and leadership practices, communication, emotional intelligence, and organizational development.
  • Custom Programs for organizations within and beyond Loyola that seek to integrate coaching cultures, strengthen leadership capacity, or cultivate collaboration and well-being.
  • Coaching Support Services for individuals and teams, connecting clients with certified coaches for one-on-one and group experiences that promote personal growth and professional excellence.

While leadership development remains central to the Center’s mission, coaching is its cornerstone, the foundation from which all other learning and development initiatives emerge. Through coaching, individuals develop the insight and grounding they need to show up with awareness, courage, and compassion, whether leading others or navigating their own personal and professional journeys.

Community is both a pillar and a practice of the Center. We are building a living network of coaches, leaders, and researchers committed to shared growth, collaboration, and purpose. This community extends beyond Loyola, connecting local and global partners who share an interest in human and organizational development. Members of this community engage through networking events, mentorship programs, and collaborative projects. The Center serves as a gathering place where ideas are exchanged, relationships are built, and innovation emerges. It is also a space for reflective dialogue where diverse voices explore complex issues of leadership, equity, and change.

The Center serves as a hub for research on coaching, leadership, and human development. Our research explores the impact of coaching on individual and organizational outcomes, the role of self-awareness and emotional intelligence in leadership, and the conditions that support ethical, adaptive, and reflective practice. Through applied and scholarly research, the Center connects theory to practice, examining what works, why it works, and how it can be scaled or adapted across contexts. We pursue grants and partnerships that expand Loyola’s leadership in coaching research, emphasizing rigorous, relevant, and community-informed inquiry. By integrating research directly into our practice, the Center establishes a continuous learning loop in which evidence shapes programming and experiences in turn inform future research.
