Loyola's Commitment to Baltimore

Baltimore is a dynamic city full of history, culture, commerce, and charm. Like all cities, Baltimore also has needs and faces unique challenges.

As the Jesuit, Catholic university in Baltimore, Loyola University Maryland has long been involved in addressing these needs and challenges, partnering with our neighbors not only to strengthen our city economically but also to enhance education, safety, commerce, health services and collaboration within the community.

Loyola graduates men and women for and with others, educating students to embrace justice, diversity, leadership, and social responsibility. As members of a greater community, students gain the broad perspective they need to address complex issues—issues such as poverty, homelessness, violence, racism and education reform that our cities are grappling with today.

Today, Loyola has an opportunity to take a still greater leadership role in Baltimore, building on the work that has already been accomplished by increasing our investment in the city we call home. Loyola welcomes and encourages invitations, ideas and initiatives from the community.
