Spring Welcome Weekend FAQs

Is Spring Welcome Weekend mandatory, even if I started classes in the fall?

Yes, it is. Sessions cover various aspects of your time at Loyola, including academics, activities, and what it means to be a community member.

Can my family participate in Spring Welcome Weekend?

This is a is a student-only program.

Will the meal plan be available during Welcome Weekend?

Yes, students' meal plans will be active beginning January 11 and dining facilities will be open during that time. For more specific information, please refer to the dining website.

How will the CARP (Campus Arrival Restriction Period) impact Welcome Weekend?

All of our orientation sessions and activities will take place in a virtual setting. Students will receive a unique link to Guidebook (an app) with a schedule of events for the weekend.

How will Evergreens engage with new students?

Evergreens will meet with their Messina students in small groups during orientation. Evergreens will continue to participate in enrichment sessions during the spring semester and host social programs with their Messina group.

What support will be available for first-year commuter students?

Programming will be available for first-year commuter students throughout the semester. These programs will help commuter students connect to their peers and campus through social and educational events. We will also work to offer potential spaces on campus where commuter students can stay and study on campus and between classes.

What support will be available for new transfer students?

Transfer students will move to campus on January 13, followed by transfer orientation. The Transfer Student Organization (TSO) will host a variety of programs throughout the semester and offer a space for transfer students to form a community through social events.
