Loyola Crisis Navigators to offer webinar for small businesses on social media in the COVID-19 era

Loyola’s Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship (CI&E) and Mindgrub, are sponsoring a free webinar on Tuesday, June 9, at 1 p.m. to help small businesses navigate social media in the COVID-19 era.
Presented in partnership with the Baltimore Small Business Support Fund and Baltimore Development Corporation Technical Assistance Network, this webinar is a program offered by Loyola Crisis Navigators, a pro-bono consulting group created by the CI&E to support Baltimore businesses during the COVID-19 crisis, with a particular focus on aiding minority-owned and women-owned businesses and entrepreneurs. Mindgrub, which is based in Baltimore, is a technical agency and creative consultancy that specializes in digital transformation that was founded by Todd Marks, a 1998 graduate of Loyola.
As part of the webinar, Laura Scruggs, director of marketing at Mindgrub, will share strategies to keep customers engaged and even gain new customers despite the shutdown. The session will also cover authentic messaging in support of issues that matter to stakeholders, including Black Lives Matter. There will be time for discussion and Q&A.
“Social media is one of the main ways people are consuming information and entertainment during the pandemic, but many Baltimore businesses and nonprofits have expressed uncertainty around how to use social media effectively during a crisis,” said Wendy Bolger, founding director of Loyola’s Center for Innovation & Entrepreneurship. “We hope this webinar provides businesses with new and impactful ways to connect with their consumers, to share critical information, and to capture their audience’s attention during this unprecedented time.”
