Loyola’s graduate psychology program ranked among the nation’s best

U.S. News & World Report named Loyola University Maryland among the 2026 Best Graduate Schools, ranking the University’s graduate psychology program one of the top in the nation.

Loyola’s doctoral program in clinical psychology (Psy.D.) was ranked No. 109 (tied) among 244 Clinical Psychology Programs. It is consistently ranked in the top 10 Psy.D. programs in the country.

Comparing all programs that offer a doctoral degree in clinical psychology, Loyola's program is now:

  • Tied for No. 3 among all Psy.D. programs that offer only the Psy.D. degree
  • Tied for No. 4 among all programs that offer the Psy.D. and offer the Psy.D. and Ph.D.

Carlucci, Ph.D., chair and professor of psychology. “Our mission has always been to train psychologists who show up where they’re needed most, working alongside communities and expanding access to quality mental health care.”

U.S. News & World Report’s rankings reflect peer assessments of academic quality as well as location, environment, cost after tuition and financial aid, and job placement.

Loyola offers an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts degree, master’s in clinical professional counseling, and doctoral degree in clinical psychology. The programs in psychology endorse the educational mission of Loyola, to challenge students to learn, lead, and serve in a diverse and changing world.
