Biography
Marian Crotty is the author of two short story collections: What Counts as Love, which was longlisted for the PEN/Robert W. Bingham Prize and won the Janet Heidinger Kafka Award and Near Strangers, winner of The Autumn House Fiction Prize. Her short stories have appeared in literary journals such as The Kenyon Review, Ploughshares, and The Sun as well as Best American Short Stories. Her essays, two of which have been listed as notable essays for the Best American Essays series, have appeared in journals such as The Gettysburg Review, The New England Review, and Electric Literature. She is a contributing editor at The Common, a literary journal based in Amherst, Massachusetts that publishes writing with a strong sense of place.
