Lucas Southworth

Lucas Southworth has published over 40 stories in magazines such as Conjunctions, AGNI, Alaska Quarterly Review, Willow Springs, Hayden’s Ferry Review, West Branch, and many others. He has also received fellowships and residencies from The Maryland State Arts Council, The Truman Capote Trust, Virginia Center for the Creative Arts, The Jentel Artist Residency Program, Monson Arts, and Arteles Creative Center in Hämeenkyrö, Finland. His collection of short stories, Everyone Here Has a Gun, won the Association of Writers and Writing Program’s prestigious Grace Paley Prize and was published by University of Massachusetts Press. Off campus, he is teaching himself Italian and how to be a better tennis player.
