Graduate Student Survey

What is the Graduate Student Survey?

The Graduate Student Survey is a Loyola-developed and administered survey to gather information about the graduate student experience. It is developed and administered via collaboration between the Office of Graduate Education and the Office of Institutional Research (OIR). For more information about the Graduate Student Survey, please see below or contact survey@loyola.edu

2026 Loyola Graduate Student Survey Campaign

Loyola regularly administers the Graduate Student Survey, typically every three to four years (e.g., 2018, 2022), depending upon institutional context. For example, the Graduate Student Survey was delayed from being administered in 2021 until 2022 due to COVID and from 2025 until 2026 due to the Campus Climate Survey being administered in spring 2025.

In late March and early April 2026, all graduate students (as of the spring 2026 census) at Loyola will be invited to participate in the Graduate Student Survey. Your responses will inform and support evidence-based practice, decision-making, benchmarking, and strategic planning for continuous improvement of the graduate educational experience at Loyola.

Survey Instrument

The Graduate Student Survey instrument changes slightly from year-to-year, depending upon topics of interest or context at Loyola. Otherwise, the majority of the questions are the same and help to capture feedback on the students ' experience at Loyola. For more information about the Graduate Student Survey instrument, please contact survey@loyola.edu

Results

OIR analyzes and prepares an initial presentation of results for campus dissemination by the Office of Graduate Education, typically in the fall following the survey administration. Additionally, OIR shares de-identified results of the Graduate Student Survey with the Office of Graduate Education for additional analyses and use.
