Program Assessment

Sophomores (Class of 2020)- Messina needs your help!

Now that you have had some time away from your Messina experience, we would like to see what about Messina has been beneficial to you in your sophomore year and what could still be improved upon for future students participating in Messina. Given this, Messina will be conducting a set of focus groups of current sophomores. The purpose of these focus groups is:

  • To get a sense about the topics and experiences within Messina that shaped your personal and academic development since you arrived at Loyola
  • To get a sense about the ways in which Messina may have created a foundation to support your personal and academic development at Loyola
  • To get a sense about the ways/areas in which Messina can continue to grow in helping students develop personally and academically
  • To get a sense of how you have utilized your Class Dean and what could be most helpful to you in regard to that relationship

Currently the focus groups will be conducted on the following days/times:

  • Monday, January 29: 6pm-7:45pm (most likely end by 7:30pm), College Center 105
  • Tuesday, January 30: 6pm-7:45pm (most likely end by 7:30pm), College Center 105
  • Wednesday, January 31: 6pm-7:45pm (most likely end by 7:30pm), College Center 105
  • Thursday, February 1: 6pm-7:45pm (most likely end by 7:30pm), College Center 105

If you are able to participate, please register by January 29. This sign up link also has a place for you to indicate if you are interested in serving on a focus group but cannot do the  dates/times listed above. More focus groups may be conducted this semester depending on student interest. You will receive an email confirmation from Mary Ellen Wade with your confirmed time as well as who is leading the group. The focus groups will be audio recorded so that a Messina staff member is able to process the data. You will not be asked to use your name at any point during the audio recording. You can also email Mary Ellen in advance if you have any questions before signing up to participate.
