A Look Back at the 2025 Senior BBQ

After a soggy senior week on the Evergreen campus, the rain finally let up for the sun to shine on the finals days for the Class of 2025 to enjoy being students at Loyola University Maryland.
With the grounds of the Alumni House still soaked and muddy from a week of downpours, the 2025 Senior BBQ had to move indoors. This was only a minor setback since the camaraderie on display this Thursday in the Andrew White Student Center was just as warm as any ray of sunshine. And as this year's seniors filed out with full bellies and fuller hearts, they were greeted with a gorgeous late Spring evening with the campus to themselves.
While meeting socially for nearly the last time as students and the first time as members of the Alumni Association, members of the the Class of 2025 dined on a delicious spread of barbecue and soul food from Loyola Dining, with all-you-could-eat servings of pulled pork, chicken, and all the trimmings you could ask for. Beverage options offered a preview of Alumni Association events to come, with additional support for the event provided by The Rizzo Career Center team.
Loyola University Maryland President Terrence M. Sawyer, J.D., was in attendance and spoke brief words of encouragement and support for the graduating class, with a reminder that he's saving his best material for Saturday's Commencement Ceremony. Also taking a turn on the microphone was AVP of Advancement Colleen Riopko, '02, who welcomed the Class of 2025 to the Alumni Association, gave away prizes to the winners of the Senior Class Donor raffle, and announced the results of The Senior Class Gift fundraising campaign, which successfully raised more than $4,200 from 500-plus student donors.
Seniors were also encouraged to keep in touch and stay involved through events and communications offered by their soon-to-be alma mater. Members of the Class of 2025 can expect to be included soon as recipients of the monthly alumni email newsletter, and are invited to follow alumni activity and connect with their fellow Greyhounds via the alumni Instagram and Facebook communities.
Special encouragement is also warranted with regard to joining and communicating with the alumni LinkedIn community. After all, professional and career development connections tend to be where the rubber meets the road for our global network of 70,000 alumni.
Congratulations are of course in order for the Class of 2025, who may be ending their time at Loyola as students, but are only starting a lifetime as proud members of our Greyhound Nation alumni community.
Best of luck seniors, and keep in touch!
