I agree that as a requirement for receiving assistance from a tutor, I will:

  • Give at least 3-hours’ notice (24-hours’ notice is preferable), should I need to cancel my tutoring appointment by contacting the Front Desk in The Study by email (TheStudy@loyola.edu) or phone (410-617-2104).
  • Arrive on time and be well prepared for every tutoring session (i.e. bring homework, syllabus, ask questions, report academic progress, etc.).
  • Follow the Honor Code and not compromise the tutoring relationship by asking my tutor to complete any class assignment(s) or ask for assistance on any assignments that have not yet been graded (including homework).
    • I understand and will uphold the ideals of academic honesty as stated in the Honor Code.
  • Agree to meet with my professor outside of class regularly (office hours or by appointment).
  • Attend class regularly.
  • Check my email regularly to obtain tutoring information and updates.
  • Realize that I am solely responsible for my grades and class performance.
  • Behave in a civil manner during the tutoring session and treat the staff respectfully.

Important policies to be aware of:

  • If you fail to report for more than two scheduled tutoring sessions, you will not be allowed to register for more tutoring sessions without first meeting with the Assistant Director of The Study.
  • If you are unsatisfied with your tutor, please inform TheStudy@loyola.edu or Blake Lubinski, Assistant Director of The Study at blnlubinski@loyola.edu.  We will work quickly to find you another tutor.
