Transfer Student Resources

Transfer Student Organization

Follow us on Instagram (@loyolatransfers) to get all updates and notifications about events being put on each month. The Transfer Student Organization (TSO) is a collaborative network of new and returning transfer students, intended to foster community and provide continuous support to transfer students of all backgrounds.

If you have any questions about TSO and how to get involved in the organization feel free to contact a member of the executive board or Assistant Director of Student Engagement and TSO Advisor, Katie Derreth, at krderreth@loyola.edu.

Admission

Loyola University Maryland welcomes transfer students coming from two‑ and four‑year colleges who wish to continue their education on our Evergreen campus. Students who enrolled in courses at another college or university after completing high school are considered transfer students. Learn more about the transfer admission process, or contact us at transferadmission@loyola.edu.

Academic Advising

The Academic Advising and Support Center (AASC) will work with you to acquaint you with Loyola's core and major curricula and support you in having a positive and successful academic experience at Loyola. To view Loyola's transfer course policies, please visit the transfer requirements webpage. To see the required course listing/degree checklist for each major, visit the academic worksheets webpage.

Residence Life & Housing

A place to call home that feels like one, our residence halls are so much more than a place to hang your backpack. In addition to a variety of apartment-style housing options featuring spacious bedrooms and semi-private bathrooms, students have access to a full kitchen and comfortable common spaces for studying and spending time with friends. It’s no wonder 80% of Greyhounds choose to live on campus through their senior year. Learn more about housing on the Residence Life & Housing Transfer Student page.

Student Engagement

Within the Office of Student Engagement is housed Transfer Welcome Weekend and the Transfer Student Organization (TSO). Transfer Welcome Weekend is a great time to interact and connect with fellow transfer students while equipping yourself for success here at Loyola. TSO will host monthly social and educational events for all transfer students to form an increased sense of belonging at Loyola. TSO is a collaborative network of new and returning transfer students, intended to foster community and provide continuous support to transfer students of all backgrounds.

Also housed in the Office of Student Engagement, is our Assistant Director, Luke Haus who oversees transfer initiatives and programs. If you have any questions about your transition to Loyola, how to get involved, or need help navigating everyday Loyola life feel free to contact Luke at lahaus@loyola.edu

The Career Center

At Loyola, career design—like education and life—is a process. You’ll match your passions and talents with a vocation and take advantage of networking events and career fairs, programs and coaching for professional development and interviewing, and digital tools that allow you to connect with alumni, employers, and career mentors in your field or sector. Our Career Center serves all students and alumni in discovering fulfilling career paths, preparing to present their best selves to the world, and maximizing available resources to achieve their goals.
