School Spirit Iggy
School Spirit Iggy is a distinct expression of the Loyola Maryland brand that complements —but remains separate from—the official athletics identity. While the Loyola Athletics logo and mascot represent our intercollegiate athletic programs, School Spirit Iggy brings the Greyhound to life in a friendly, approachable way for broader university storytelling, engagement, and campus spirit.
School Spirit Iggy should be used as a standalone graphic and should not be paired with the Loyola Athletics logo or other Greyhound mascot illustrations. Keeping these brand expressions separate preserves the integrity of each so that they serve their intended purpose.

- Use in student-facing and community-building contexts.
- Avoid using Iggy in formal or academic communications.
A Few Rules
Iggy can be customized to engage in any activity you can imagine (or draw), with just a few important rules to follow:
- Iggy’s face may go any direction, but the expression may not be changed.
- Iggy is always happy.
- Iggy is a cartoon animal, and as such, has three fingers and a thumb, no exceptions.
- All of Iggy’s features should be pronounced but toned—just like a real greyhound.
- Likewise, any props Iggy uses should be playful and exaggerated.
- Always keep Iggy’s clothes on and in Loyola colors (whenever possible).
- Iggy’s colors may not change.
- Iggy may not be shown with weapons or firearms; alcohol; tobacco/nicotine products; or any drugs.
- Iggy may not engage in any illegal activity, or be associated with racist, sexist, or hateful language; profanity; suggestive/sexual acts or language; statements impugning other institutions; or images that are harmful to the mission of Loyola University Maryland.
- Iggy represents equality. Our greyhound is non-political, belongs to every race, and should be viewed as gender-neutral.
