What Do I Bring to Loyola?

Loyola University Maryland is excited to welcome students' to campus and assist them with making their room feel like home. When packing for move-in we are encouraging students to only bring what they need to be successful and encourage students to speak with their roommates to determine who is bringing what. Things to Think About

  • Do I need this while away at college?
  • If I needed to pack to return home quickly is this easily and quickly packed?
  • Can I pack all my items in one car? If not, what should I leave at home?
  • What are my roommates bringing? Can we share this item? (Please discuss with your roommate what is appropriate to share versus what each of you should have for yourselves)
  • Do I need to pack this, or can I order it to be delivered once in Baltimore?
  • Can I rent this from one of Loyola's approved vendors?

Room Decorations

The Offices of Residence Life & Housing and Facilities recognizes that residents may want to decorate their rooms with posters or pictures. If you choose to do so, you will be responsible for any and all damage  to the paint and/or wall. We recommend that residents hang posters or pictures using "blue painter's tape". Students may also choose to use removable poster "putty".

Please note products sold as "removable" poster hooks, mounting tape, strips, squares, or dots have been found to stain the paint or cause damage to surfaces when improperly removed. If you decide to use these products, we recommend first applying the blue painter's tape to the wall and then adhering the removable hook or tape to protect the wall. You should never use masking tape or duct tape as these leave residue and damage the wall.

Please review the University Residence Hall Decorating policy when deciding what to hang and not hang.
