At Loyola, our goal is to provide students with a home: a place where you feel comfortable—and where you’ll forge bonds that will last a lifetime.

Residence Life & Housing staff support all residential areas, including professional and student staff living in the halls. Our team is here to help build community, create connections to campus resources, and support students. In addition, living on campus increases access and participation in academic services, campus events, and University resources. Living on campus enhances the student experience and creates lasting, meaningful relationships, and residential students are more likely to graduate in four years.

 

First-Year Student Residence Halls
We designed our first-year communities to support students through their transition to college. With Resident Life & Housing, the staff is committed to helping students during their first year at college. This first year's significant themes are acclimating to a new environment, forming new relationships, and interpersonal development. Our first-year students have different options for on-campus housing at Loyola. We enhance these communities by assigning students to live with fellow greyhounds in their Messina themes.

Residence Hall Options for Returning Students
We developed our returning student communities to meet the ongoing needs of students beyond their first year in college. Many returning students are familiar with the campus and have existing relationships. These communities focus on further enriching these relationships, deepening connections to the university, and advancing students' interpersonal skills. In addition, as students progress through our many housing options, they continue to develop independence within a community supported by professionals and student staff to meet needs as they emerge.
