Position Special Projects & Programs Graduate Assistant
Hours & Wages
  • Position Schedule: 2025-26 academic year.

 

  • Renumeration: Student compensation will be $18/hour for 11 hours per week. It will average out to about $7,680 for the academic year. 

 

  • Position Term: August 11, 2025 - May 15, 2026. Start date flexibility is possible at request.

 

Qualifications
  • Must be enrolled as a graduate student at Loyola University Maryland. 
  • Demonstrated project management, event planning, and logistical coordination abilities. 
  • Demonstrated written and oral communication, organization, and data management skills. 
  • Experience with and interest in community service, service-learning, community engagement, community organizing and/or social justice work. 
  • Ability and willingness to work with students, faculty, and campus and community partners.
Scope and Responsibilities
  • This position is responsible for the planning, management, and implementation of CCSJ signature programming for special projects and events that occur throughout the academic year. The position works collaboratively with both professional staff and undergraduate student interns to successfully plan, facilitate, and assess departmental programs conducted in partnership with local organizations and schools. 

 

This position will report directly to the Director of the Center for Community, Service, and Justice. 

 

Position Duties

Position Duties:

1. Plan, market, and coordinate Loyola's annual Halloween Block Party in partnership with local organizations and schools. 

2. Plan, market, and coordinate Loyola's annual holiday gift drive in partnership with local organizations and schools. 

3. Coordinate, recruit, and prepare service participants for the annual Special Olympics Maryland Swim Qualifier - annual swimming event at the Fitness and Aquatic Center, hosting Special Olympics athletes from all over Maryland. 

4. Manage and support additional CCSJ + YRI specialty projects and events including but not limited to visitation days with partnering schools, community engagement and post-graduate service fairs, community engagement award processes, etc. 

5. Collaborate with the Special Projects Program Coordinator (undergraduate student intern), who is responsible for supporting the projects and programs noted above. 

6. Assist with data collection and program assessment for position related events and programs. 

7. Provide support to the Assistant Director for Student Leadership & Development with other projects as needed. 

8. Other duties as assigned or desired.
