Welcome prospective exchange students! We are excited that you are visiting our website with hopes of attending Loyola University Maryland. Loyola only accepts exchange students from its exchange partner institutions. If you are a student at one of these universities, please contact your International Office to find out if you are eligible to apply to Loyola's exchange program. Once you have received approval through your home institution, you can then begin the application process with Loyola. The exchange coordinator at your home university will work with you to complete this process.
- Fall semester (late August through mid-December) and year: March 8
- Spring semester (early January – mid-May): October 16
- Please note, if you are applying to be a year-long exchange student, follow the deadline for the semester that you intend to begin your program at Loyola (for example, if your intended first semester will begin in the Fall, you will follow the deadline for Fall Semester applicants).
In order to apply, you will need to create a login username and password for our electronic application portal. Please follow the instructions (steps 1-6) below so that you can create a username and password in order to proceed with your application.
Step 1. To begin the process, click on this link: https://studyabroad.loyola.edu/index.cfm?FuseAction=Programs.ViewProgram&Program_ID=10039
Step 2. Click “Apply Now.” You will be asked to verify if you are sure you want to create an application. Click “OK”
Step 3. You will see a page with login instructions. Choose the option “I do not have login credentials to this site.” You will be led to a page where you will need to put in an active email address so that you can create a new username and password.
Step 4. Fill out your name, email address, date of birth, gender, and home institution. Read the information in the box. If you agree, click on the check box to proceed, and then click "Create Account." You will receive a message informing you that you will be emailed your new, temporary login credentials. The email will be sent from email@example.com to the email address that you provide.
Step 5a. In the email from firstname.lastname@example.org, you will see your temporary login credentials and a link that is for "General Non-Loyola Login." Click on the "General Non-Loyola Login" link in the email you received. You will once again see a screen to choose how you will be logging in.
Step 5b. This time, select "I have login credentials to this site that I received by email" and click "submit." You will then be asked to type in the temporary username and password you were provided in the email. You will be asked to choose and answer security questions. The site will then ask you to create a new, permanent password.
Step 5c. Click "Change" to create your new permanent password.
Step 6. Select your intended term. If you are applying as a year-long exchange student, choose the correct option for full-year exchange students.
Hit "Apply" and follow the Application Instructions provided on the website's Program Application Page.
You can always save and return to your application. To do so, go back to the link provided, and login using your username and permanent password by clicking on "NON-Loyola Login." Or, revisit the site by going to this link: https://studyabroad.loyola.edu/index.cfm?FuseAction=Programs.ViewProgram&Program_ID=10039 and choosing the "NON-Loyola Login" option.
