DEI committee organized a teaching workshop

Dr. Earnest Perry speaking at the virtual 'Infusing the Curriculum' DEI teaching workshopCommunication Department's Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee organized a virtual teaching workshop for the faculty titled, “Infusing the Curriculum,” on May 20, 2021. 

This 90-minute workshop covered two curriculum strategies -- how to infuse the discussion of diversity, equity, and inclusion into existing communication courses and how these issues can be reinforced throughout the curriculum.

Dr. Earnest Perry, Associate Dean for Graduate Studies and Research at Missouri School of Journalism, University of Missouri, led this workshop. Dr. Perry is the lead faculty for the Poynter Institute's "Diversity Across the Curriculum" course.

Seventeen faculty members from Communication, English, Fine Arts, and Writing had participated in this workshop.

Loyola College of Arts and Sciences and Communication Department offered financial support to organize this event.
