Medical Plans

We continue to offer the same three medical plans through Cigna, with no changes to the current plan design. However, premiums will increase effective July 1, 2023, for most of the medical plans. As a reminder, the 5-tier rate structure that was implemented last year will continue. The 5-tier structure places premiums equitably based on the cost of insuring 2 adults vs. the cost of insuring 1 adult plus child or 1 adult plus children. This structure also allows for differing circumstances and encourages employees and their families to explore medical plan alternatives that may be most advantageous to them.

  • Health Savings Account Video
High Deductible Health Plan enrollees are eligible to participate in the Health Savings Account (HSA). Employees wishing to participate must enroll in the HSA to receive Loyola's contribution of $ 500 (employee only coverage) or $ 1,000 (two-party and family coverage). Loyola's contribution will be deposited as a lump sum on July 1, 2023.
  • Wellness Program - Starts 7/1/23!
Employees will continue to be eligible for reduced medical plan premiums by completing two (2) wellness steps between July 1, 2023 through October 31, 2023. Those who do not complete both wellness steps by Oct. 31, 2023, will not benefit from the reduced “wellness” premium rates; and the higher “non-wellness” rates will go into effect on the first paycheck of December 2023. Beginning July 1, 2023 employees must log in at www.myCigna.com and complete Wellness Step 1 (health assessment) and Wellness Step 2 (date of annual physical). Please note, to qualify for Wellness Step 2, the date of the annual physical must be between July 1, 2022 to October 31, 2023. The wellness steps must be completed in the www.myCigna.com portal. Please do not submit the wellness screening form. It will not be accepted. If there are issues please contact the benefits & wellness unit at x1365 or x1366 before the October 31st deadline.

Flexible Spending Accounts

Employees, including current participants must actively enroll in the Health Care and/or Dependent Care Flexible Spending Accounts. If current participants do not re-enroll their FSA coverage will end on June 30, 2023. This is an IRS requirement and must be strictly followed. Current participants should contact Optum Financial at 1-800-243-5543 if they have questions or need assistance with their account. The annual election limit for the Health Care FSA increased to $ 3,050 and the Dependent Care FSA remains the same at $ 5,000. For additional information, including How-To-Videos click here

Other Benefits

Coverages and rates for Dental, Vision, Life, and Disability will remain the same. Plan benefits are summarized in the benefit guide here
