Give Back: Commitment to Justice Awards in Psychology

The psychology department at Loyola University Maryland is committed to the professional training and development of clinical mental health practitioners in the Ignatian tradition of cura personalis, which endorses the educational mission of Loyola and challenges students to "learn, lead, and serve in a diverse and changing world."

In conjunction with our 2022 Milestone Anniversary Weekend, we aim to raise $25,000 for current graduate students with a demonstrated interest in pursuing clinical mental health practices with marginalized and vulnerable populations. When we meet our fundraising goal, the Commitment to Justice Awards in Psychology will distribute annual awards to graduate students enrolled in either the Doctorate of Psychology in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D.) or the Master of Science in Clinical Professional Counseling (CPC) programs. These students will work directly with underserved communities. In addition, if we raise $50,000, we will be able to endow these awards in perpetuity!

Give to the Commitment to Justice Awards in Psychology

Our fundraising goal is ambitious but achievable. Establishing the Commitment to Justice Awards in Psychology will demonstrate our commitment to mission, to diversity, equity, and inclusion, to best-in-class training, and most of all, to our graduate students, who are ready to make a difference in the community.
