Daniel Castillo, Ph.D., Awarded The College Theology Society Book Award
Congratulations to assistant professor Daniel P. Castillo, Ph.D., whose book, “An Ecological Theology of Liberation” won The College Theology Society book award.
Castillo's award winning book, "An Ecological Theology of Liberation," explores the relationship between salvation, human liberation, and care for creation. Expanding upon the work of Gustavo Gutiérrez’s work "A Theology of Liberation," Castillo proposes the concept of green liberation theology.

Founded in 1954, The College Theology Society, a professional association of college and university professors, has awarded a publication award each year since 1971. The membership of The College Theology Society boasts a current membership of over 500 college and university professors participating in such activities as hosting an annual convention, publishing a semi-annual journal, Horizons, and promotes the development of programs which are intellectual, value-oriented, and realistically designed to meet students' needs.
