Dr. Beth Montanaro is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Loyola University Maryland. Her academic journey began with a B.S. in Elementary and Exceptional Education from the University of Delaware (2001), followed by an M.Ed. in Special Education from Montclair State University (2007). After spending seven years as a special education teacher in New Jersey, she earned her Ph.D. in Special Education from the University of Maryland, College Park, in 2012.
With extensive experience in K-12 education, Dr. Montanaro taught special education at the elementary and middle school levels, served as an instructional coach for a national teacher preparation organization, and worked in independent schools as an instructional strategist and reading specialist.
Before joining Loyola University Maryland, Dr. Montanaro served as the Coordinator of the Special Education M.A. Program at The Catholic University of America. In that capacity, she taught specialized courses encompassing special education instruction, student assessment, and literacy methods.
