The Sellinger Mission-Driven Business Academy is a five-day summer program crafted by Loyola University Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business for rising juniors and seniors, with consideration for high-achieving rising sophomores. This academy combines Loyola’s Jesuit values with leadership training, social responsibility, and hands-on experience. With a unique focus on ethical leadership, students gain a foundation in mission-driven business, equipping them for academic and personal success.
By dedicating Day 1 to exploring Loyola’s Jesuit values, students gain an understanding of ethical leadership. Additional workshops, a field experience with Innovation Works, and a capstone project prepare students to embrace mission-driven leadership.
Objective:
Equip students with foundational business and leadership skills, a commitment to ethical decision-making, and knowledge to make a positive impact on their communities.

Target Audience:
This program is designed for high-achieving rising sophomores, juniors, and seniors with a demonstrated interest in ethical leadership and sustainable business practices.
Certificate of Completion:
Recognizes students' successful completion of the program, demonstrating proficiency in business strategy, ethical leadership, and entrepreneurship. It serves as a valuable credential for college applications, scholarships, and career readiness.
Benefits and Inclusions
Accommodations & Meals:
Students will stay in Loyola University Maryland residence halls, with linens provided. Housing is safe and secure, with staff support and card-access entry. All meals are included, served in the university’s dining facilities to provide a collegiate experience.
Instructional Materials:
All workshops, case studies, and capstone materials are provided. Students will receive a digital and printed workbook to track their learning and project development. Access to Loyola’s online business resources during the program.
Field Experience:
Experience Innovation Works Baltimore, a hub for social enterprise, and gain practical insights into mission-driven business models. Connect with Baltimore-area business leaders and entrepreneurs through dedicated networking sessions.

Mentorship & Faculty Engagement:
Direct mentorship from Sellinger School of Business faculty and industry professionals. Group coaching for business planning, leadership development, and ethics in decision-making.
Overnight Staffing & Supervision:
Loyola-trained overnight staff will ensure safety and provide structured evening programming. Adherence to university policies and safety protocols, with 24/7 supervision.
Certificate of Completion & Collegiate Recognition:
Students will earn a Certificate of Completion from the Sellinger Mission-Driven Business Academy. This certificate demonstrates proficiency in business strategy, ethical leadership, and entrepreneurship, making it a valuable credential for college applications and career pathways.
Application Program Requirements and Tuition Information

Tuition & Fees:
Early Bird Rate: $2,900 (apply and submit deposit by February 15, 2026)
Application Fee: $50 (non-refundable, due at time of application).
Deposit: $150 (due upon acceptance; refundable until February 15, 2026)
Final Balance Due: June 1, 2026.
Scholarships: Sellinger Business School will be awarding all Maryland students with
a $500 scholarship. This application will take approximately 5-10 minutes to complete.
Please note: This is an application for acceptance. You will be notified of your status
within two weeks. If accepted, a $150 deposit will be required to secure your spot
(refundable until February 15, 2026).
To apply for the Sellinger Mission-Driven Business Academy: High School Summer Program
at Loyola University Maryland, applicants must meet the following requirements
1. Minimum 3.0 Grade Point Average, preferably earned in a college preparatory curriculum
and with a mix of honors and/or Advanced Placement/International Baccalaureate courses.
2. Demonstrated involvement outside the classroom through extracurricular activities,
athletics, or community services.
3. A one-page single-spaced essay explaining why you are seeking to participate in

4. A teacher, coach or counselor recommendation. (see Application Materials section)
