Loyola’s Sellinger School of Business earns AACSB reaccreditation

Loyola University Maryland’s Sellinger School of Business and Management received reaccreditation for its business and accounting degree programs by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the longest serving global accrediting body for business schools.

“AACSB sets a high bar for business schools worldwide to earn and maintain accreditation, requiring rigorous academics and adherence to the organization’s high standards of excellence,” said Kathleen Getz, Ph.D., dean of the Sellinger School. “We work to meet those standards every day and provide an excellent business education to our students.”

AACSB accreditation has been earned by fewer than 5% of the world’s business programs, and dual accreditation for accounting and business administration programs has been earned by only 1.5% of business schools. AACSB has accredited 890 business institutions in 58 countries and territories. Similarly, 189 institutions hold AACSB accreditation for their accounting programs.

Achieving accreditation is a multiyear process where schools develop and implement a plan to align with AACSB’s accreditation standards in areas relating to strategic management and innovation, student, faculty and staff as active participants, learning and teaching, and academic and professional engagement.

The Sellinger School’s full-time MBA program and finance and management programs scored high among U.S. News & World Report’s “2022 Best Graduate Schools.” In addition, Princeton Review included Sellinger among the “Best Business Schools” in 2021, while College Factual ranked the accounting programs as No. 1 in Maryland in 2020.
