Reasonable Accommodations

The Office of People and Culture (OPC) serves as the central point of contact for employee accommodation requests. At Loyola University Maryland, accessibility is a core part of our commitment to fostering a welcoming, equitable and inclusive community. Guided by our Jesuit tradition and the principle of cura personalis (care for the whole person), we are committed to providing reasonable accommodations that support qualified employees to fully participate in the workplace.

Applicants who need an accommodation to apply for a position are encouraged to contact the OPC to discuss their needs.

Employee Accommodation Requests

• Step 1: Employee submits an accommodation request with supporting documentation from healthcare provider.
• Step 2: Employee, OPC and supervisor (as applicable), participate in interactive request review process.
• Step 3: OPC notifies the employee of the outcome of their accommodation request

The OPC is available to provide ongoing support for employees with existing accommodations and to assist when accommodation needs change.

Employees who need a workplace accommodation are encouraged to connect with their OPC Partner to begin the interactive accommodation process. The Office of People and Culture reviews each request on an individual basis and in accordance with applicable laws and University policies. Employees seeking a temporary workplace accommodation or an accommodation to participate in a University-sponsored event should also contact their OPC Partner for assistance and support.
