Graduate Assistantship Position Information

Position	Messina Graduate Student Assistant: The Messina Graduate Assistant (GA) will support the work of the professional staff as it relates to developing and executing its mission. This position will begin on Tuesday, August 17th, 2026 and will conclude on May 14th, 2027 with a paid hourly rate of $20/hour. Per policy at Loyola University Maryland, each GA may only work a maximum of 20 hours/week and cannot hold more than one assistantship at a time. This GA will report directly to the Assistant Director of Messina.
Hours and Wages	$20 per hour 20 hours per week
Qualifications	Must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student at Loyola University Maryland Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Excellent interpersonal and communications skills Experience in marketing, social media, and working events
Responsibilities	Develop, plan, advertise, staff, and execute first-year oriented programming in conjunction with the Assistant Director of Messina for the full calendar year Distribute the Messina weekly newsletter Track and manage attendance data at Messina events and trips and assist with other assessment strategies Develop and prepare content on the Messina website and assist with editing the Messina Handbook Assist with weekend events such as Open Houses, Accepted Student Days, Move-In Weekend, and Family Weekend Contribute to the THRIVE Center for Student Success by actively participating in events, supporting colleagues, and encouraging undergraduate students to use available resources
