Graduate Research Assistant — School Counseling

The Department of School Counseling at Loyola University Maryland is seeking a highly motivated graduate student to serve as a Graduate Assistant (GRA). The GRA will work directly with an Assistant Professor on various research projects related to Counseling. The position provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in social science research, data analysis, and academic writing, and is ideal for a graduate student seeking to deepen their expertise in social research methodologies and theoretical frameworks.  Commit to 100 hours over the academic fall semester.

• This assistantship is for the entire academic year. The GRA will work 100 hours per semester (approximately 6-7 hours per week). The 6-7 hours will with flexibility.
• 
  The compensation is $1,652, split 50% between tuition and stipend. 
• 
  The stipend is subject to federal and state income taxes, and the scholarship is applied to tuition. If the scholarship portion is larger than the tuition for the semester, the excess will be transferred to the stipend portion of the package. 

• Currently enrolled in a graduate program at Loyola University Maryland 
• Research and writing skills, with experience in academic literature reviews.
• Proficiency in data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R, Stata, NVivo) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with a research team
• Strong communication skills, a strong work ethic, and the ability to work well independently and on a team

• Assist with literature reviews on topics related to counseling, school counseling and public policy related to the field.
• Support the design and development of research projects, including survey and interview instrument design.
• Collect and organize data, which may include assisting in the monitoring and implementation of data being collected via Qualtrics.
• Perform quantitative and/or qualitative data analysis using statistical software (e.g., SPSS, Stata, R, NVivo).
• Contribute to manuscript preparation, academic writing, and presentations for publication in peer-reviewed journals.
• Assist in the preparation research-related documents.
• Provide administrative support as needed, including scheduling research activities, maintaining research files, and coordinating with participants.
