New Teacher Pinning Ceremony and Celebration

4 education majors celebrating after pinning ceremony

Graduates of Loyola University Maryland’s initial certification programs in Teacher Education were honored at the Farewell Celebration on May 10, 2023. This year’s event included a pinning ceremony that marked the completion of their degree, their commitment to the field of education, and their life-long connection to Loyola University Maryland.

The celebration included remarks from Dr. Afra Hersi, Dean of the School of Education and Stacy Williams, Chair of the Teacher Education Department. Both reflected on the student journey and charged graduates to continue learning and growing as they enter this next phase post-graduation. Following the words of reflection and encouragement, faculty from the Teacher Education Department pinned each candidate to officially welcome them to teaching profession.
