Familiarity with resources available on campus can help you foster your own sense of belonging and can also help others. These offices and departments at Loyola are all working hard to create belonging at Loyola. They can all help create spaces for members of our community to come together, and provide valuable resources.

Academic Advising and Support Center (AASC)

  • AASC provides the Loyola community with assistance regarding academics.
  • The staff offers advising and registration support, academic success workshops, and other services designed to help students achieve academically.

ALANA Services

  • ALANA (African, Latino, Asian, and Native American) Services is committed to providing support, services, and programs that facilitate the success of all ALANA students at Loyola.
  • Through intentional programming and a myriad of services, ALANA Services fosters the academic, cultural, personal, spiritual, and leadership development of ALANA students.

Campus Ministry

  • Empowers students to create community, rooted in faith, that is integrated into their daily life through experience, discernment, and promotion of justice.
  • Invites students to full and active participation in the church and the enhancement of their own gifts and attends to the whole person through vibrant opportunities inclusive of people of all faiths.
  • Spearheads interfaith initiatives with the hope of cultivating safe and empowering spaces of faith and educating the community around religious diversity.

Career Services

  • Career Services’ approach is grounded in the reality that a one size fits all approach doesn’t work in navigating the career journey of today's students and professionals.
  • Career Services have created a unique, four-phase process comprised of self-discovery, exploration, preparation, and active pursuit to meet any student or graduate where they are and help them move forward with purpose.

Center for Community, Service, and Justice (CCSJ)

  • Inspired by Loyola’s Jesuit Catholic educational mission and identity that calls for a dynamic integration of academic excellence, social responsibility, and faith that does justice—CCSJ is committed to reciprocal collaboration with community partners and to involvement with people who are marginalized.
  • CCSJ aspires to place a shared emphasis on the engagement of Loyola students and faculty and the pursuit of positive community impact in Loyola’s immediate York Road neighborhoods, throughout Baltimore City, and the world.

Counseling Center

  • The Loyola University Maryland Counseling Center supports student growth and learning by providing developmentally oriented psychological services and programs to help students maintain their emotional well-being and achieve their educational and personal goals.
  • The Counseling Center promotes a healthy and inclusive community through relationship-building, education, crisis intervention, and support.

Disability and Accessibility Services 

  • Disability and Accessibility Services' mission is to provide students with disabilities the equal opportunity to participate in all Loyola programs and activities.
  • The staff coordinates accommodations and supports so students can learn, lead, and serve in a diverse and changing world. This is achieved by the development, administration, and coordination of programs and services, which eliminate barriers of any type (e.g., physical, programmatic, attitudinal, or electronic).

Graduate Student Services

  • The Graduate Student Services office advocates for the needs of graduate students and works to create strong partnerships with administrative and academic departments to provide services and programs that will help our graduate students achieve their goals, such as becoming a better student or a more informed and involved member of the Loyola community.

International Student Services

  • The Office of International Student Services advises international students regarding personal, immigration/visa, academic, social, and acculturation issues and provides workshops on cultural adjustment, reentry issues, career planning, tax filing, and other topics.
  • The Office of International Student Services also informs international students about changes in immigration regulations and about upcoming events via email, social media, and their web site.

LGBTQ+ Services Website

  • LGBTQ+ Services website work to affirm and help students explore their many identities, including a/sexuality, a/gender, race, ability, religion, and class by providing community building, education, events and initiatives.
  • LGBTQ+ Services website seeks to identify, address and reduce racism, heterosexism, misogyny, cissexism, ableism, and other forms of discrimination on campus.

Library Services

  • The Loyola Notre Dame Library provides information services and resources to support the academic programs and educational concerns of Notre Dame of Maryland University and Loyola University Maryland.
  • Through the Library’s website, faculty, students and staff may access an extensive array of books, journals, databases, and streaming video to support research, teaching, and learning.

Messina

  • Messina offers an opportunity to explore a wide range of disciplines, appreciate their interconnectedness, and take to heart the importance of learning in your personal and intellectual growth.
  • From your first days on campus, you will be connected to a support network that challenges you to think critically; discover your talents; connect your passions and gifts to the needs of your campus, local, and global communities; and learn, lead and serve in our diverse and changing world.

Office of Equity and Inclusion

  • Loyola University Maryland values the benefits in diversity, and we are committed to creating a community that recognizes the inherent value and dignity of each person. As a community, we actively promote an awareness of and sensitivity toward differences of race, gender, ethnicity, national origin, culture, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, age, and disabilities among students, faculty, administrators, and staff.

Recreation and Wellness

  • The Department of Recreation and Wellness encourages the whole person to be active, healthy, and inspired.

Residence Life and Housing

  • The Office of Student Life oversees three main aspects of life at Loyola: the residence halls, programming and community building, and the student conduct process.
  • The Student Life staff works hard to help you feel at home at Loyola by providing top quality programs in the residence halls, serving in an emergency on call duty rotation to foster safety and security, and promoting the standards of the Loyola community.

Student-Athlete Support Services (SASS)

  • The mission of the Student-Athlete Support Services Office is to provide quality academic advising and educational support programs, as well as need-based services that will enhance the academic progress, facilitate the career development, and encourage the psychosocial growth of every student-athlete.

Student Engagement

  • The Office of Student Engagement provides diverse experiences to enhance student leadership and create a culture of campus engagement. It delivers intentional opportunities to students, calling them to practice reflection and leadership at critical times in their transition and personal development.

Student Health and Education Services

  • Loyola University Student Health Center supports the education and development of students by promoting their optimal health and well-being.
  • Their mission is to provide evidenced-based care of acute illness/injuries and to provide both active health promotion and disease prevention services for students.

Student Support and Wellness Promotion (SSWP)

  • The Office of Student Support and Wellness Promotion seeks to enhance students’ overall development in healthy, proactive, and integrative ways.
  • SSWP uses a student-focused approach for addressing emotional and substance-related issues, and our interaction with students is rooted in the utmost respect for each student’s unique identity, perspective, and life experience.

The Study

  • The Study is a quiet study space and computer lab that offers tutoring and academic support services for Loyola undergraduate and graduate students.
  • The Study’s primary services include peer and professional tutoring in nearly all courses, academic success workshops on a variety of study skills, and organization and time management coaching.

United Network of Dreamers, Immigrants, and Advocates (UNIDA)

  • Loyola University Maryland embraces a commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion in the Loyola community that includes individuals and their families who are refugees, immigrants, or not U.S. citizens.
  • In collaboration with several members across the campus community, the Office of International Student Services, Counseling Center, Campus Ministry, ALANA Services, and the Center for Community, Service, and Justice are committed to strengthening support services on campus for all students enrolled or seeking admission to Loyola.

Women’s Center

  • Loyola's Women's Center is dedicated to empowering women and men by educating the University and its surrounding community on issues of gender that are of particular interest to women.
  • A primary goal of the Center is making effective mentoring opportunities available to women from all quarters of our collegiate community.

Writing Center

  • The current Loyola Writing Center is built on important Writing Across the Curriculum initiatives at Loyola University in Maryland implemented across the 1980’s and 1990’s.
  • To continue Loyola faculty and administrators’ commitment to writing across the curriculum, a Writing Center Task Force was formed in 1999, and Jennifer Follett joined the college community as interim coordinator of “The Write Place,” the LWC’s pilot peer-consulting program.
