Class of 2017: October 19, 2016

Class of 2018: October 26, 2016

Completed and signed specialized study forms and any special permissions may be submitted to AASC by 4 p.m., on the dates specified above. Otherwise, specialized study forms must be submitted to the Records Office (MH 141) by the close of the registration period, January 20, 2017. Special permission forms must be submitted to AASC (MH 138) no later than January 20, 2017.

Making Alternative Arrangements for Registration

Students who cannot be present at their assigned registration time must contact AASC no later than the day prior to the assigned registration time to make alternative arrangements. Students will be required to present a written statement explaining the reason for the absence and indicating their desired registration option, as listed below:

Option 1: Submit the completed registration form with alternative course selections and all necessary signatures to the AASC prior to the assigned registration date.

The registration will be entered at the designated registration appointment time. It is important to list alternative courses in the event that the courses or sections chosen are closed. The data entry operator will make every effort to process the registration as submitted; however, if all choices and reasonable options are exhausted, the student's registration will not be complete. It is the student's responsibility to contact AASC to verify that the registration is complete and to make any necessary adjustments after the initial registration has been processed.

Option 2: Register on the assigned day any time after the scheduled appointment time. Students may use WebAdvisor any time after their assigned start time until 4 p.m., on the dates specified above. After 4 p.m., students should take the paper form to the AASC (MH 138) for advising assistance and to the Records Office for registration processing.

Students who do not have the necessary criteria such as Course Permission Slips or electronic permission, required prerequisites, incorrect major/minor/specialization, etc., will not be registered for course(s) requiring this criteria. All other course requests will be processed. Students will be expected to complete the necessary paperwork or contact the Academic Advising and Support Center. Priority in course selection will be lost.

Web Registration Procedures

Classes of 2017, 2018, 2019 - Use WebAdvisor from any computer with web access. Class of 2020 - Use WebAdvisor in Newman Towers computer lab, if assistance is necessary:

  1. You should receive web registration access information and WebAdvisor user instructions via Loyola email. If you do not receive this information within one week of your registration date, please contact the Records Office, 410-617-2659 or 2256.

  2. To access information regarding your registration appointment time and any financial restrictions that may prevent you from registering, click WebAdvisor for Students > Registration > Reg Appointment/Permission. If you have any questions, contact the Records Office, 410-617-2659 or 2256.

  3. It is important to check WebAdvisor for Students > Academic Profile > Degree Audit prior to registration to make certain that your academic program information is accurate. Check your major and minor information, as some courses are restricted accordingly. Course prerequisites and restrictions are available via Search for Sections and Course Listings (click course title hyperlink).

  4. Schedule an appointment with your academic advisor prior to your assigned registration day to plan your schedule and select alternate course options. Use Search for Sections or Course Listings or consult with your advisor to select only open courses.

  5. Students are responsible for making certain that all degree course requirements are completed, including courses in the core, the major, the minor, and the total number of courses and credits. Refer to your WebAdvisor for Students > Academic Profile > Degree Audit and confer with your advisor.

  6. Make certain that your academic advisor has given you electronic permission to register prior to leaving the advising session; otherwise, you will not be able to web register. If your advisor signed your registration form but did not give you electronic permission to register, bring the signed form to the Records Office (MH 141) to receive electronic permission prior to your registration time.

DO NOT wait until the day of registration to get your advisor's electronic or written signature. Advisors may not have scheduled office hours for that day. Registrations cannot be processed without the advisor's electronic or written signature.

Reminder: The undergraduate midsemester holiday is Friday, October 14, 2016. Seniors are encouraged to meet with their advisors to get electronic permission before leaving for the holiday.

  7. Know your Inside Loyola Username and Password. For assistance with password resets, contact the Student Technology Center prior to registration using one of the following options:

    Telephone Support
: Call 410-617-5555. Students must have their Loyola ID number.

    Walk-in Support
: Knott Hall 107. Students must have their Loyola ID card.

For information about recovering a forgotten password, visit the Student Technology Center website.

  8. Have all of your materials ready so you can promptly begin the registration process. Be sure to have your advisor's signature or electronic permission and any necessary forms and signatures before registering.

  9. Class of 2020 - If you plan to come to Newman Towers to register, come to the Lobby area. Please be prepared with course selections. Plan to arrive 5-10 minutes before your assigned registration time.

  10. On your assigned registration day and time, go to inside.loyola.edu and login, then click WebAdvisor for Students > Registration > Undergraduate Registration. Do not try to access WebAdvisor earlier, or you may face delays in being able to access the system at the appropriate time.

Note: WebAdvisor operates effectively with the following internet browsers:

    - PCs: Internet Explorer 9.0, 10, 11; Firefox 19, 21, 24, 28, 32, 36
    - Macs: Safari 6.0, 6.1, 6.2, 7.0, 7.1, 8; Firefox 19, 21, 24, 28, 32, 36

When working within WebAdvisor, it is best not to use the browser Back button. Also, do not keep a number of tabs open, as it will slow the registration process. More than six open tabs will result in an error message: You cannot open more than 6 tabs at one time. Please close any you are finished with.

  11. Once you have finished web registering, be certain to check WebAdvisor for Students > Registration > My Class Schedule to confirm accurate registration processing. This schedule will display finalized classroom assignments approximately two weeks prior to the start of classes.

Late Registration

Students who do not web register must go to AASC (MH 138) during business hours to register in person, November 14, 2016 – January 20, 2017. Priority in course selection will be lost.

Students are responsible for knowing the regulations governing registration, withdrawal, and payment of tuition as summarized on this website and given in detail in the undergraduate catalogue. The University reserves the right to make any changes to scheduled course offerings and to cancel any class for which there is insufficient enrollment.
